Come explore a land rich in diversity from the dense tropical rainforests full of diverse animals, to the rugged volcanos, and cascading waterfalls. Guatemala is home to Central America’s deepest lake and ancient Mayan ruins. Come explore a country rich in past and present wonder, and beauty.

Day 1: Travel Day

Fly into Guatemala City

Drive to Antigua

Day 2: Volcano de Fuego

Hike the stunning Volcano de Fuego and possibly experience the ground shaking from small eruptions from this active volcano.

Day 3: Language Study

Spend the day practicing your Spanish with locals at a local language school.

Learn some culture as you learn to dance the Bachata

Day 4: Lake Atitlan

Visit Central America’s deepest lake, Lake Atitlan, for the day. It’s considered one of the wonders of the world and surrounded by Volcanos and Mayan villages.

Day 5: Volunteer at Plantation

Experience the wonders of coffee and chocolate as you spend the day at a coffee and/or chocolate plantation

Evening hike to a stunning lookout

Day 6: Service Project

Use your talents and strength as you help build a house for a local family

Day 7: Travel Day

Additional Itinerary Options

Visit Mayan villages or ruins. Add extra days to the trip to extend listed excursions or add on another Volcano adventure, or zipline tour.

Variety was great; amount of activities we squeezed into four days was great. I loved the challenging and fun nature of the big hike at Section 16, the whitewater rafting, and the horseback riding. It was nice to mix in some lower-energy activities that allowed the kids a bit more sense of freedom, like the hot springs, and Manitou Springs.

(Cam's mom also sent an email letting me know how appreciative she was of the consideration for Cam's dietary restrictions). Angela said it was the best possible way she could think of to wrap up her senior year at CHCH.

Loved the food options, lots of variety. A great mix of relaxation, fun, and education. Jeremy is absolutely professional, fun, attentive, engaging, and everything you would wish for in a tour director! I can not recommend using this program for school trips enough! It was a wonderful balance of fun and education for our students. It created an experience that will last them a lifetime and that they will remember fondly for years to come! Thank you so much!
