Did you know that Grand Canyon National Park encompasses 277 miles of the Colorado River? Or that the Grand Canyon is 6,000 feet deep? That is over one mile in-depth, and at some points, it’s 18 miles wide! Embark on a journey through the southwest while learning about the geological history of the Canyon Lands! This journey focuses on geology, American Indigenous cultures and engages in service opportunities on the Navajo Nation Reservation. This trip is filled with rich exposure to the local culture, history, geological studies, and loads of fun hiking through red rock trails, swimming in refreshing cool rivers, and gazing at inspiring sunsets!

Depart home for Pheonix Sky Harbor Airport
Program Introduction and orientation while heading north to Sedona Red Rock region and stopping at Montezuma Castle National Monument.
Day 2: Sedona Hiking
Sedona Red Rock Exploration day: Hike Cathedral Rock, Devils bridge, then cool off at Slide Rock State Park.
Take a bumpy adventure through red rock trails in a 4X4 Jeep excursion.
Day 3: Service Day in Navajo Nation Reservation
Check out the local dinosaur tracks frozen in time.
Volunteer at a local food bank and help with packaging, gardening, and food distribution on the Navajo Nation Reservation.
Day 4: Grand Canyon
Grand Canyon IMAX – watch and learn about the formation of the Grand Canyon and the historical people who lived and adventured in the canyon.
Explore the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park and hike further into the canyon for a different perspective on the Bright Angel Trail. Spend the afternoon learning more about the canyon’s geological history from the local park rangers.
Day 5: Glen Canyon Dam
Depart for Glen Canyon Dam.
Cruise on a relaxing river raft excursion on the Colorado River to Horseshoe Bend. Your group will learn about local wildlife, see historical petroglyphs, and have an opportunity to jump in the frigid Colorado River!
Before departing for Flagstaff, we will take a short hike to view Horseshoe Bend from the top.
Depart for hotel and dinner in Flagstaff.
Day 6: Departure Day
Depart for home.
