Traveler Code of Conduct

TRAVELERS CODE OF CONDUCT

I understand that while I am traveling I represent my home, my school and Immeasurable Journeys. I will endeavour to reflect that in my conduct, words and attitude.

  1. I understand that I am expected to participate in all group activities.
  2. I understand that minors must be in groups of three or more and be accompanied by an adult, unless otherwise agreed between group leader and Immeasurable Journeys.
  3. I understand that no traveller may consume or purchase alcohol and/or tobacco products, unless otherwise agreed between group leader and Immeasurable Journeys.
  4. I understand that no traveller (minor or adult) may consume or purchase illegal drugs for the duration of the trip.
  5. I understand that males and females (students and adults) are not allowed in rooms of members of the opposite sex.
  6. I agree to follow all guide instructions regarding littering, staying on marked footpaths where applicable and instructions on use appropriate use of the environment (natural and man-made).
  7. I agree to respect and listen to all step-on guides and third party vendor safety instructions.
  8. I understand that if I violate my school’s standards or IMJ’s standards, I may be sent home (at my own expense) by the joint decision of the school’s leadership and the IMJ guide.
  9. Regarding my ID and/or passport (if applicable):
    • I will be responsible and not lose my ID/passport!
    • I will make a copy of my ID/passport and keep it in a safe place.
    • I understand that if I lose my passport before I depart the country, I will not be able to continue on the trip but will have to return home. (The copy of your passport will not get you into a foreign country. It will only help you get a new one if you lose it while you’re abroad.)
    • I understand that, in the very unlikely event of losing my passport while abroad, I will be responsible for all costs associated with obtaining a new one. This may include passport fees, flight changes and/or hotel costs for me and an adult chaperone. (No student is ever left alone to handle these situations.)
  10. I understand that I will have the time of my life, will make some of my favourite memories and will probably show my trip pictures to anyone I know.
