Come and explore beautiful Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas at the base of America’s Mountain, Pikes Peak. There is much to experience and learn without going too far. Colorado springs located at an elevation of 6300 feet.  It is home to the world-renown Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center, where prominent athletes come to train at altitude. Take part in making a difference by lending your ‘green thumbs’ and hands at the largest aquaponics greenhouse in Colorado.  Be inspired by the greater global impact this organization is making while you learn greenhouse horticulture. Finally, stop for a unique encounter with Colorado Grey Wolves.  This journey will not disappoint!

Colorado Springs Journey

Come to the away in the Rocky Mountains.

Day 1 – Arrive in Colorado Springs, visit Air Force Academy, arrived in Colorado Springs

Day 2 – Service project at the largest greenhouse and Aquaponics system in Colorado. 

Day 3 – Visit Great Sand Dunes, National Park

Day 4 – White water rafting on the Arkansas River and horseback riding

Day 5 – Hike Garden of the Gods and visit the US Olympic Training Center

Day 6 – Red Rocks Open Space hike and souvenir shopping in Manitou Springs

Day 7 –  Depart for home.

Additional Itinerary option:

*Add a day or trade an activity to visit local Summit Pikes Peak, Rock climbing, or Mountain Biking.

I have heard nothing but good things from the kids. Cam said it was the greatest spring session the school has run yet. (Cam's mom also sent an email letting me know how appreciative she was of the consideration for Cam's dietary restrictions). Angela said it was the best possible way she could think of to wrap up her senior year at CHCH.

Variety was great; amount of activities we squeezed into four days was great. I loved the challenging and fun nature of the big hike at Section 16, the whitewater rafting, and the horseback riding. It was nice to mix in some lower-energy activities that allowed the kids a bit more sense of freedom, like the hot springs, and Manitou Springs.
